The Company
Elite Floors, Inc. was founded in 1955 by Mr. John and Mrs. Carmella Colabatistto of Yonkers, New York where through a modest storefront in Yonkers they provided flooring products and services to local residents. In the 1960’s due to significant growth the company moved to a larger location. Soon thereafter Elite Floors Inc. was passed on to John’s son, Gene who together with his wife Marlene expanded the business to include work on large public and commercial projects including the renovation of Ellis Island National Park and Landmark. (A plaque at Ellis Island commemorates that the Colabatistto family participated in its renovation). Marking the company’s continued success Gene commissioned a new building in Yonkers where Elite Floors Inc., now owned and managed by Gene and Marlene’s son Ray, is currently located.
